HACCP

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead, U.S. food producers will need to fortify their risk-based food safety plans. It is widely viewed within the food safety industry that the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) approach to food production is the most effective, proven method for preventing potential food safety hazards.

HACCP is a process that has been established for juice, meat, poultry, and seafood processing in order to prevent foodborne illness. It is designed to carefully monitor each step along the process to help ensure that the end food product is safe—and that the actual production process is within strict control.

This proactive approach to food production helps companies identify the critical control points (or CCPs) where potential contamination can occur. Once identified, these critical control points are strictly managed and monitored to ensure optimal safety of the food product being produced.

We strongly believe that our patent-pending Sentinel technology, once available, will help food producers assess critical control points and ensure rigorous and successful HACCP-based food safety systems.

We are currently in the process of achieving our ISO9001:2008 certification. Our products will be manufactured in accordance with these guidelines and also under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as well as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

Our Sentinel products are now being tested to meet regulatory requirements. When tested, approved, and available, these innovative—and highly practical and reliable products—can become an integral part of any HACCP plan to help ensure its success.
